DV doesn’t Echo Docklands
Docklands News comments by Jackie Watts are spot on.
The pathetic plastic temporary lights and waste of funds is taking up the entire footprint of the demolished pier preventing taxis and other boats from using this heritage listed precious waterway.
Melbourne Water, City of Melbourne and Development Victoria (DV) go on about the wheel, a fish market, green spaces for high- rise families to use, a short-sighted plan for a school extension but no land yet, and anything else that pops into their heads in order to placate people who actually care.
This is a beautiful place that is simply used without obligation by powers and has nothing to do with the easy task of making the area excel.

Suggestions for improvements
Hello, I’m a Docklands resident. I would like to give some ideas, how to make Docklands a more enjoyable place.
Right now, after Costco had left, it is a quiet and boring neighbourhood for us. What we need ...
Coles and ALDI Supermarkets
IKEA Furniture Store, KMART and Big W Stores (they should have brought the above stores to replace Costco, instead of a boring pathology lab!)
Several ATMS at the shopping centre, including near the last tram stop. Sometimes, we do really need it for emergency cash withdrawals.
Commonwealth/ Westpac/ANZ Banks. Especially for the elderly residents.
Small cafés and burger and chips shops near the tram stop! We don’t have to walk far away inside to buy coffee and sandwiches, while waiting for the trams. Including ATMs. It would make our lives easier, if those amenities are operating by the last tram stop area.
Medical centres at The District. Like dentists and emergencies! We don’t have to travel far away to go to doctors. Please bring them to our neighbourhood.
Operate the Wheel again to make Docklands Drive neighbourhood alive!
Open Community Centre to do short courses like arts and crafts, computer/IT training classes for the community.
