A new community space for Docklands

A new community space for Docklands

Not-for-profit organisation Saras.Care has taken over the space at The District Docklands previously occupied by Docklands Neighbourhood House.

Saras.Care, led by Docklander Gautam Gupta, supports youth and people at risk of becoming homeless or who are socially isolated by providing a safe space for connection and access to opportunities.

With a “deep commitment to social impact” the organisation runs a number of programs from its headquarters at The District and plays a particularly important role in supporting Docklands’ significant Indian community.

Last year, it organised Docklands’ biggest-ever Diwali Festival at Marvel Stadium’s redeveloped Town Square precinct, attracting more 12,000 people.

The Saras.Care team is inviting any Docklanders to come down and use its new space at The District or to just drop in a say “hi”. You can find Saras.Care at SEG04, 2 Wharf St, Docklands. •
