More than 12,000 people flocked to Marvel Stadium’s brand-new Town Square precinct, and a further 1000 people attended events held at The District Docklands, for Diwali celebrations on Saturday, November 11.
Event organisers were ecstatic with the response to the first major Diwali event of its kind held in Docklands, and what was the first community event staged at Marvel Stadium’s redeveloped entrance between gates one and three.
Event organiser and CEO of local charity SarasCare Gautam Gupta said the festival was a major success for Docklands, and that organisers were already gearing up for the 2024 edition where they hoped to attract more than 25,000 people.
