Spanish fiesta
Get ready for the sound of flamenco music and the taste of paella.
The Docklands-based Spanish Latin America Welfare Centre (CELAS) is holding a Spanish festival this month.
CELAS is a not-for-profit, government-funded organisation, which has been based at The Hub since January this year.
The organisation aims to assist the Spanish-speaking community in Victoria by providing services such as aged-care, community volunteer schemes and playgroups.
This year, the organisation is celebrating 35 years of service to Victoria’s Spanish-speaking community.
To celebrate, CELAS is holding a Spanish festival called Sounds of my Land at the Waterfront City Piazza on October 13.
“There will be traditional food, music and performers,” CELAS centre manager Adriana Osorio said.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to celebrate our culture as well as our 35th anniversary of servicing the Spanish-speaking community in Victoria.”
