Queues for Penguin charity sale
30th October, 2019
By Eleanor O’Connor – Penguin Random House
The annual Penguin Random House charity book sale on October 24 in aid of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation was a huge success.
We thank Collins Square for all their assistance in set-up and promotion and our colleagues at Penguin Random House for volunteering their time to run the sale.
We made $17,000 which will aid the foundation with its aim of reducing the disadvantage experienced by children in remote Indigenous communities across Australia by lifting literacy levels and instilling a lifelong love of reading.
While we didn’t do a door count, we estimate we had at least 700 shoppers eager to snap up a bargain bestselling book across our adults, lifestyle and children’s titles.
