The Docklands Chamber of Commerce and our neighbourhood partners were proud to host the second Docklands Waterfront Farmers Market in its fantastic new location on Sunday, June 21.

It was wonderful to see thousands of locals turn out once again to support the event and spend time together on the waterfront. With the sun shining, the market had a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that reflected the best of Docklands.

We are particularly proud of the collaboration between Yarra River Cruises and Mirvac, which together provided the sold-out passenger ferry service from Yarra’s Edge to the ferry terminal. This partnership is a great example of what can be achieved when local businesses work together. We are keen to explore more opportunities like this, so if you have an idea, please send us an email – we would be delighted to work with you.

Australian Boat Parties also returned as the official Market Boat Bar, helping create a fun and social space for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the day.

We also thank Boost Juice at The District Docklands, which generously provided smoothie vouchers. It was a creative way to encourage market-goers to visit their store and demonstrates how small businesses can be part of market day.

Thank you also to ANZ Docklands Branch for attending with generous giveaways, including shopping bags, and to the Alma Doepel group for helping educate visitors about the restoration of Australia’s oldest wooden tall ship.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Kerrie and her team on The Ship4Good for hosting a free community day and offering a family-friendly activity for locals and visitors.

Looking ahead, our next market will take place on Sunday, August 16. If you would like to be involved, please email [email protected] and Nicky will be in touch. Please note that a City of Melbourne street trading permit is required, and we are happy to assist you with that process.

July is shaping up to be another exciting month as we reopen our membership drive. We are also planning a networking event in August, giving new members the opportunity to meet and connect with existing members.

Our AGM will be held at 9am on August 12. If you are a Docklands Chamber of Commerce member, invitations will be emailed to you shortly.

We are proud to be ambassadors for the Docklands business community and neighbourhood. We are passionate about this area and will always strive to represent it to the very best of our ability.
