Maiden voyage
5th December, 2019
Port Phillip Ferries’ new service, the Geelong Flyer began its twice-daily services between Docklands and Geelong on Monday, December 2.
The first service departed Geelong at 6.45am and arrived in Victoria Harbour at 8.15 am.
Port Phillip Ferries celebrated the historic first journey by handing the first 50 passengers a selection of gifts from Daniel’s Donuts, Melbourne Star, Peppers Docklands and Edge Geelong.
The new route connects Geelong and Melbourne via ferry for the first time, creating an alternative and environmentally friendly means of travelling between Victoria’s two largest cities.
The 400-seater ferry features indoor and outdoor spaces, an on-board licensed café, bike racks, charging stations and free Wi-Fi.
