Luxury yacht ablaze
5th February, 2015
A luxury yacht was engulfed by flames at Yarra’s Edge on January 21.
The owner, his two sons, and guests were evacuated with help from the fire brigade.
Some 32 fire fighters contained the fire, which they believe started in the engine room of the large double-storey craft.
The small electrical fire started just after 6pm when the occupants noticed black smoke coming from within the engine bay.
Fire investigators inspected the vessel and declared it was all under control after 20 minutes.
Ambulance Victoria checked all occupants for smoke inhalation and no one was seriously injured.
