Karwa Chauth celebrated
29th October, 2019
Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival where women fast from sunrise to moonrise for their husbands’ longevity and safety.
The holiday falls on the fourth day of the month of Kartik, according to the Hindu lunar calendar – this year it was October 17.
A Docklands group celebrated the holiday at the Hub by dressing up in colourful Indian outfits. They fasted all day, praying for love and the well-being of their husbands and families.
