Gorgeous Goods Shed North
Docklands master developer VicUrban has moved into the sumptuously-refurbished Goods Shed North building which runs between Collins and Bourke streets in Docklands.
Some 600 staff from VicUrban, the Building Commission and the Plumbing Industry Commission will inhabit the $63 million renovation.
The building is Victoria’s first heritage building to achieve a 5 Star Green Star Rating for its environmental values.
Among its environmental credentials are:
Active chilled beam heating and cooling;
Gas-fired tri-generation power generating power on-site;
Underfloor ventilation system;
Rainwater harvesting;
Grey water system for toilet flushing;
Constructed from mostly recyclable materials;
Dedicated bicycle storage; and
No car parking (encourages sustainable travel to work).

Future of Docklands’ heritage fleet still under threat despite six-month extension
