Mobility to be resolved

Mobility access will soon be restored at the Community Hub at The Dock following ongoing maintenance issues with the building’s lift.

The City of Melbourne confirmed that the lift that was previously malfunctioning at the community hub was in the process of being fixed.

U3A Melbourne City branch vice president Russell Huntington, whose group have had issues accessing the building for some time, said that he was “pleased” with the news.

“We are very pleased that the lift has been restored, a lot of our members have mobility issues,” Mr Huntington said.

The two-storey community facility is located next to Library at The Dock, and sits on the waterfront of Victoria Harbour.

The community hub offers a range of services to Docklands residents, including family support, parenting services and counseling, playgroups and immunisations.

It is also used for Docklands Yacht Club, Dragon Boat Victoria, and the Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club.
