A new free monthly run club is bringing Docklands locals together for fitness, coffee and community connection.

The Docklands Social Run, led by Lucas Real Estate in partnership with Habitat Mind Body, Shall We Coffee, The District Docklands and Quest NewQuay, is being held on the first Friday of each month from May to October.

The next run will take place in July, starting at 7am from Habitat Mind Body at The District Docklands.

Each session begins with a guided warm-up before participants take on a relaxed five-kilometre waterfront loop, finishing at Shall We Coffee, where runners receive a complimentary coffee.

The series is open to all fitness levels and is designed to be social rather than competitive.

Baden Lucas, director of Lucas Real Estate, said the initiative was about creating a simple and consistent way for people to connect.

“Having lived and worked in Docklands for over 20 years, I’ve always valued the strong sense of community here,” Mr Lucas said.

This initiative is about creating a simple, consistent way for people to come together.

Habitat Mind Body coach and director Anthony Wu said the run was intended to be welcoming for anyone wanting to build a healthy routine.

“It’s not about pace or performance – it’s about showing up and enjoying the experience with others,” Mr Wu said.

The District Docklands is supporting the series with three $50 gift vouchers at each session, while Quest NewQuay has joined from June onwards to offer overnight stays as additional prizes.

Organisers said early feedback had highlighted the value of giving residents and local professionals a chance to meet neighbours, build healthier habits and support local businesses.

The Docklands Social Run is free and requires no pre-registration.

The monthly run starts at 7am from Habitat Mind Body at The District Docklands and finishes at Shall We Coffee.
