Well, how good was that?!

Both Docklands and the spring weather turned it on for the return of the Melbourne Boat Show last month as more than 42,000 people flocked to the precinct for four days of the all-you-can-eat boating extravaganza.

Berthing along Harbour Esplanade and NewQuay from October 26 to 29, the 61st edition of the free annual event celebrated everything boating, hosting activities and attractions for the whole family with more than 100 impressive exhibitors on display.

Docklands’ heritage fleet was also on display over at the North Wharf boat sheds, with local resident and City of Melbourne Cr Jamal Hakim paying a visit to the Alma Doepel, Enterprize and steam tug Wattle’s teams on the day.

Boating Industry Association of Victoria Steve Walker deemed the event “a resounding success”, adding: “Our members put on a great display of boats and boating lifestyle, and the new activations and features were really well received.” •
