Our local, the Lounge Hotel

Our local, the Lounge Hotel Image

Haven’t found a local watering hole yet? Well you probably haven’t been to the Lounge Hotel.

Located in Docklands’ NewQuay, right next door to the renowned Medici, the Lounge Hotel is a favourite amongst Docklanders.

Having just taken over the ownership of the venue early this year, Monique Moussi, who owns both the Lounge Hotel and Medici with her father Lee, said that business was growing steadily.

“It’s picked up from repeat business. Once old customers come back to the venue and trust it again it will pick up even more,” Ms Moussi said.

Managing the Lounge Hotel and Medici, Ms Moussi said she loved how the two venues complimented each other.

Ms Moussi said she thought they worked particularly well together as the locals knew they could grab a takeaway pizza from Medici and bring it back to the Lounge Hotel well after its kitchen had closed.

“You have to look after your locals and then they’ll bring in friends from elsewhere,” Ms Moussi said.

With live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, it’s no accident that this venue is popular with the locals and the general public alike.

“Live music is definitely the biggest draw card and we are yet to even advertise it,” Ms Moussi said.

Performing all the latest hits on Saturday night, the former lead singer of Taxi Ride, Jason Singh, has been performing at The Lounge Hotel for the past 18 months.

But if alternative music is more your style, then check out the popular house band on Friday and Sunday, contradictorily called No One Knows.

With a $10 cocktail special all weekend long there is no excuse not to make this pioneer of Docklands your local.
