“Little” Louie Vega set to rock Docklands

27 Nov 2009

By Alison Kinkade

Grammy Award-winning artist DJ Louie Vega will be the featured performer at Alumbra’s Day Party on December 6.

The legendary American House DJ from America will be performing a three-hour sunset session starting at 7.30pm.

Alumbra’s marketing and event manger, James Belais, expects the event to be very popular and describes Vega as one of the biggest House DJs ever.

“With the international DJ night, people come from far and wide for that sort of a gig. It’s very niche driven and we have about five or six international DJs a year,” he said.

Vega, who has more then 20 years experience in the industry, will be supported by local Melbourne DJs including Franky D and DJ Jori at the day party.

Tickets to the event, which kicks off at 3pm and continues till 1am, are available for $35 at the venue or $40 from promoters and outlets.

Alumbra will also be hosting an international DJ event at Central Pier’s Peninsula on Boxing Day. DJs, Joey Negro and Dimitri From Paris, will perform at the Kings of Disco event and tickets are available for $60.

For those who love to party a special combination ticket for both events can be purchased for $80 from the venue.
