Flock to the library

By Tina Thorburn

Take a trip across seas and sky in the third of a series of free storytelling events at the library this month.

Storytellers Jackie Karin and Teena Hartnett will weave folktale, myth and history in their story The Way of Winged Ones and Women at the library on September 18.

The tale will take listeners to the wings of migratory birds and the shoulders of colonial women. Based on the deep connection between their sisters of the sky, the tale describes the journeys of colonial women who crossed the oceans for a new life.

The event is part of a series of Storytelling Australia Victoria events running each month at The Library at the Dock through to December.

The Ways of Winged Ones and Women is on at the Library and the Dock on September 18. Doors open at 5.30pm and the show begins at 6pm.
