For the dog’s sake

Mediation Communications graphic designer Krisztina Strzebonski is so in love with her dog Ben (right) that she selflessly lets him live at her in-laws with their dog BJ (Ben Junior - left).

After purchasing Ben, a boxer, seven years ago when he was just 12 weeks old Krisztina and her husband Luke were forced to give him to Luke’s parents a year later.

“We were moving out of our house and couldn’t take Ben with us for a short period of time. Luke’s parents were kind enough to look after him and they fell in love with him.”

Having spent time looking after Ben, and falling in love with him and the breed, Krisztina’s in-laws decided to purchase a boxer of their own.

“Luke’s parents purchased BJ, who is now six years old, and Ben and BJ have been inseparable ever since,” Kris said.

Krisztina, who is a huge dog lover, said that after Ben had spent so much time with her in-laws and BJ she couldn’t possibly bring herself to separate them.

“I miss Ben a lot, but Ben and BJ are best friends and they have a big backyard to play in, which I can’t offer them. They’re extremely spoilt by Luke’s parents and are in good hands,” Kris said.

Krisztina said that Ben and BJ were so close and in-tune with each other that Ben had even saved BJ’s life.

“BJ got stung in the mouth by a bee a few years ago and it was Ben that kept nagging and hounding at Bart (Krisztina’s brother-in-law) trying to get his attention to alert him to BJ who was lying helplessly on a bed at the back of the house. If wasn’t for Ben, BJ may not be around today” she said.

Extremely smart and playful, it is clear to see why so many people love Ben and BJ.
