The Hilton opens its doors
The new and very glamorous Hilton Melbourne at South Wharf is now open.
Vice president Hilton Hotels Australasia Ashley Spencer, said: “Hilton Hotels has invested heavily in Melbourne and view the city as one of Australia’s, if not the world’s, premier business events destinations.”
Offering a range of new eating and drinking destinations, choices at the Hilton include Nuevo 37 restaurant, featuring Spanish cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Ramon.
In keeping with the theme, the Sotano Wine and Tapas Bar features a wine tower suspended from seven-metre-high ceilings, and a four-metre-high charcuterie tower laden with Spanish meats and cheeses, anchors for the tapas menu.
Or for a quick snack, there’s Caffe Cino.
The hotel itself has 396 rooms and is 20 storeys high with spectacular views.
