The Cauldron’s new home in Docklands
The Cauldron – craft connect is very excited to announce we now have a permanent home in The District Docklands.
Having a permanent “bricks and mortar” meeting place will now see the program being able to expand into extra “social crafting” sessions and an array of craft lessons.
The space is still a predominantly adult one with community connection at its core, however we will be expanding into some parent/guardian and child classes in the future.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm are now permanent social crafting times when you bring your own hand crafting project along to the shop and meet other crafty people in the community.
We are still running our charity crafting lessons too for those who are interested in making toys for the charity KOGO. For session times on charity crafting is it always best to contact The Cauldron prior to attending.
More information on the charity KOGO – “knit one give one” can be found here.
Paper crafting classes have now been scheduled for October, including “Making a Junk Journal”, “Vintage Ephemera Cards” and “Botanical Stamping Cards & Wrap”. These will be hosted by Docklands’ very own Cherie from the Pixie Paper Company and more detailed information about classes can be obtained here: [email protected]
Further classes in knitting techniques and hand pieced quilting including English Paper Piecing will be advertised soon. For more information please contact: [email protected] or simply swing by the shop during social crafting times.
This is a community connection program enabled by The Docklands Stakeholder Group via the City of Melbourne. We’d love to hear from the community about any specific classes you’d like to take and if possible, we will try and find teachers to host.
There is not always someone at the shop 9-to-5, but we do have all our information in the window, so feel free to take a peek when you are heading to The District Docklands. You’ll find us at Shop 11, Wharf St (between Paint n Sip and Magnet Galleries). •
