A breach of safety on the Etihad Stadium concourse has put commuters at risk.
Two forklift drivers were seen early on the morning of Tuesday, March 13 driving unsupervised through a public area used by peak hour pedestrians.
Melbourne Stadiums marketing and communications general manager, Louise Thiele said the use of the forklifts on the concourse was “not in breach of OH&S”.
However, WorkSafe Victoria’s safety and prevention information states: “Wherever forklifts are used in the workplace, employers must ensure that the operation of the forklift does not impact on safety of others, including pedestrians.”
Ms Thiele declined to comment on Etihad Stadium’s practices in relation to WorkSafe guidelines.
