More E-Class trams in Docklands
28th June, 2017
The first two of 30 new E-Class trams started operating on routes 96, 86 and 11 from June 13.
The E-Class trams, with a 200-person capacity, are bigger and more accessible compared to older models.
The new trams feature low floors, more Myki readers, extra handrails and strap hangers, audio and visual passenger information, air conditioning and dedicated spaces for passengers with mobility aids and prams.
A total of 80 E-Class trams have been ordered and are expected to all be in service by mid-2019.
