A series of Intergenerational Cooking Workshops held at the Melbourne City Marina in April has provided a valuable vehicle for community building in Docklands.
The event was organised by the City of Melbourne’s neighbourhood volunteer program and introduced different cultural cuisines to the participants to support mutual understanding across cultures and generations.
The culinary workshops were held on April 1, 8, and 15 with different international foods including Chinese dumplings, tofu and veggie Hhrmony stir-fry, and butter chicken.
The participants included people of various ages and backgrounds, who were taught to make a range of delicacies during the interactive cooking sessions.
