Hello Brindabella

One might be forgiven thinking it odd to find Australia’s most famous maxi yacht Brindabella living in Docklands.

But the 1997 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race line honours winner is moored at a private jetty at Yarra’s Edge. The maxi also broke the race record for a conventionally ballasted yacht in 1999.

Known as “the people’s maxi”, Brindabella was designed by Scott Jutson in 1993 as a 75-foot maxi and was later modified for extra speed.

She is one of the best known vessels in Australia.
