Docklanders behaving badly
Docklanders were in a hurry last month, which didn’t go down well with Victoria Police.
Highway Patrol officers in Victoria’s high country were left shaking their heads on September 17.
Police intercepted a car on Mt. Buller Road in Merrijig after it was allegedly detected travelling at 164kmh in a 100 zone shortly after 10am.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from the Docklands, had two passengers with him.
The BMW X6 was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1280.
And Footscray police put the brakes on a motorcyclist who was allegedly riding almost 50kmh over the speed limit in Yarraville on September 9.
The Docklands man was detected travelling at an alleged speed of 107kmh in a 60kmh zone on Hyde St about 5.30pm with a female pillion passenger.
He was promptly intercepted, telling police he was in a hurry to catch the sunset in Williamstown.
Unfortunately the pair didn’t get to ride off into the sunset, with the man’s wheels of choice impounded for 30 days at a cost of $932.
The 30-year-old is expected to be charged on summons with speeding.
