Recently, Docklands Primary School had an Athletics Day at Ron Barassi Snr Park. It was an extremely fun day for the Grade
4s, 5s, and 6s.

They participated in the track events like 100 metres and hurdles. They also did multiple field events like high jump and discus.

Everyone learnt that winning is not what Athletics Day is all about.

Here are the highlights from some students that joined in the events …

Kaya from 6A said, “My highlight of the day was sack races because everyone had fun.”

Sam from 6A said, “100 metres [was my favourite event] because I think I might go to district.’’

Arden from 5D said, “I improved from last time and I got my first second place ribbon.”

Chloe from 4B said, “Long Jump was my favourite because I love to be in the sand.” Ms Hill, 6A’s teacher, said, “My favourite part was teaching the 12-year-old girls, who had a positive attitude towards everything.”

Our principal Mr Bright said, “To see everyone improve their personal bests and persevere was the best part of my day.”

In summary, this day was undoubtedly a memorable day of hard work for everyone. Thanks to Lucas Real Estate who donate to this event every year and to our teachers, other staff and volunteers who made the event so great!
