More than $4000 was donated towards the Alma Doepel restoration project last month.
And so far this year a total of $14,705 has been contributed to the project.
But there’s still plenty more fundraising to be done with around $1.7 million needed to complete the restoration of the historic top-sail schooner and return it to Docklands’ waters.
The Alma Doepel Restoration team, with the support of Docklands Chamber of Commerce, is holding a gala fundraising luncheon at Etihad Stadium on August 28, to assist the fundraising efforts.
Chamber of Commerce vice-president Bill Reid says it was “full-steam ahead” with plans for the lunch.
According to Mr Reid the event will include auctions, a VIP guest list and key-note speakers.
Enquiries about the gala lunch can be made to Mr Reid on 0416 153 116.
The total fundraising tally for May is $4442.
