A great start for The Cauldron craft program
Our Docklands community crafting program has had a great start this year.
We’ve gone from the first few months of social crafting being held once a week in a hired room at The Hub to now expanding into a magical, comforting, inclusive, creative, crafting space in our shopfront at The District Docklands.
This “community connection” program has grown each month and now has craft teaching classes added into the mix of social and charity crafting.
In October our talented group of volunteers gifted a fantastic bundle of knitted and crocheted goodies to the charity KOGO, which stands for knit one give one, with more than 40 toys, 20 beanies, cot and capsule blankets and other items such as scarves sent to those in need of comfort and warmth.
We hope those of you who wander through Wharf St, in The District Docklands, have had a chance to notice our changing creative windows and we encourage you to walk by to see our latest Christmas themed instalments.
It’s important to note this is a community connection program, so if you have suggestions for future classes, want to suggest alternate times for social crafting, or even want to sign up to teach a craft we’d love to hear from you. Hearing from, and accommodating the community is an integral part of the program.
Our new craft classes are now able to be booked via the Try Booking website and we have classes running throughout both December and January.
If you are interested in group sessions for “hens’ crafternoons”, work bonding or any other craft-based group activity, we may be able to tailor a package to suit your needs. Support from local residents and businesses will keep the program alive and expanding so we can continue to be a creative community asset for Docklands.
For those of you who are thinking of joining our social crafting evenings, you can stop by on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 5-7pm at Shop 11, Wharf St, The District Docklands, 440 Docklands Drive.
