While the Norfolk Pines on Harbour Esplanade may struggle in Docklands’ wind, there’s a new tree in town that is firmly planted in the ground.

A talking tree has found a home at Docklands’ Wonderland Fun Park in front of the Spiegeltent.

The tree has been shipped all the way from the Philippines and upon arrival required some heavy pruning to ensure it would fit in its new surroundings. Several of the tree’s longer branches were removed.

For those who have already seen the tree and heard it speak, you weren’t wrong if you thought its voice sounded familiar. 

Renowned Australian actor Jack Thompson has lent his talents to give the tree a truly distinguished voice. •
