Police appeal after assault in Docklands

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Docklands on February 24.

A 28-year-old California Gully man was with a group of friends when he tried to assist a male who had fallen off a scooter on Webb Bridge at 12.20am.

Police were told a verbal confrontation occurred after a man on a low-rider push bike collided with the group while they were helping the injured scooter rider. 

The man on the bike left and then returned to the bridge with three other men before allegedly assaulting the victim and fleeing the scene. 

The California Gully man was left with significant facial injuries.

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images and CCTV of the four men who are expected to help with their enquiries.
