Moon Dog’s new venue brings a tropical oasis to Docklands

As one of Australia’s independent and most loved breweries, Moon Dog is now welcoming  Melburnians to its newest venue, Moon Dog Doglands, and transforming Docklands into a bustling tropical oasis set right in the city.

Located in Marvel Stadium Concourse, Doglands is a 2,021sqm island-themed haven offering residents, local workers, visitors and sports goers a much-needed hospitality break ahead of the first siren and when the game is over.

“We’ve all been down to a pub on Swan Street before or after a game at the ’G but never really had that same experience around Marvel,” Moon Dog CEO and co-founder Joshua Uljans said.

“So, we’re really excited to be opening somewhere in Docklands for mates to meet for a schooner and a feed,” he said.

Hosting up to 1,200 patrons, Doglands is one of a kind, featuring curving boardwalks lined with palm trees, a mezzanine level showing the enormous scale of the venue, and a large glowing 360-degree bar at the centre of it all.

“Moon Dog Doglands is a bright and bold tropical escape bringing all the best bits of Moon Dog under one, enormous roof,” Mr Uljans said.

Offering visitors express pub meals and refreshing drinks during functions and events, Doglands will serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, from beers to seltzers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and more.

There is also a great choice of vacay-inspired special drinks, including Jungle Spritz with Campari, dark rum and pineapple, and a volcano bowl Negroni.

As a venue ideal for weddings, corporate events, Christmas parties and other occasions, Moon Dog Doglands is already more than just a place for a pre- or post-game drink.

The venue is also home to the Jungle Room, a 70-seat terrace restaurant opening onto Marvel Concourse and serving delicious meals seven days a week.

Following the success of their four other venues, Moon Dog’s Jungle Room is open Monday to Wednesday from 4pm to 10pm, Thursday to Saturday from 12 noon to 11pm, and Sunday from 12 noon to 9pm.

“We wanted to create the same game-day atmosphere at Marvel Stadium, with a Moon Dog-style twist, and Doglands does just that,” Mr Uljans said.

“There’s truly nothing like Doglands in Docklands or Melbourne. We can’t wait to get the drinks pouring, and for people to be blown away by the incredible Doglands experience.” •
