How to maximise your marketing efforts this holiday season
It’s beginning to look a lot like the holiday season!
As we start to see Christmas lights and tinsel pop up around the waterfront, things may start to become a little overwhelming for those of us trying to push through the noise and promote our businesses.
When it comes to the holidays, it can be tough to juggle marketing and other activities you need to accomplish before you wrap up the year. Many might think holiday marketing is as simple as overloading your content with jingle bells and red and green stripes. However, there are quite a few things you can do to maximise your return from marketing efforts.
Say it loud and often
If you are offering any special holiday promotions, don’t keep it quiet! Utilise your social media platforms and mailing lists and include frequent communications and audience engagement in your campaign strategy.
Plan ahead
Holiday campaigns are always exciting, but make sure you’re planning in advance. Remember, you need more than just one social post or EDM (electronic direct mail) to get people in the holiday spirit. So be strategic with your social and direct marketing content. Give yourself time to prepare and schedule in as many marketing “nudges” as possible to ensure you get the word out before everyone has finished their gift shopping.
Be visible
As with every other day of the year, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is vital for ensuring people can find your products and services, and the holidays are no different! Optimise your content to reflect any new offers or themed campaigns, and make sure you are keeping up to date with trending keywords that relate to your business and incorporate that into your content.
Google My Business
Update your holiday hours or give extra information about your offerings around the holidays. Be sure to update your Google Business Profile so that your customers know where and when they can find you, as long as any new offers you might have.
Get creative
There is absolutely nothing more satisfying than sneaking a clever Christmas pun into your content. There’s also nothing wrong with including holiday imagery in things like social and video content to engage customers around the holiday. Just try not to make everything reindeer themed.
