Free Sunday yoga classes at Docklands Community Hub

SarasCare, a not-for-profit organisation based in Docklands that supports local communities through challenging times, is offering free yoga classes every Sunday at the Community Hub at the Dock.

The classes are open to all ages and skill levels, and take place from 9am to 10am each Sunday, with space for around 40 participants.

SarasCare director Gautam Gupta describes the classes as “family-friendly” and encourages Docklands families to take advantage of the community space while experiencing the benefits of yoga.

“We would really like young people to also participate, but families should come and bring the kids with them because it gives them good discipline right from the beginning,” he said.

With a base at The District Docklands, SarasCare offers a variety of services to the Docklands community, focusing on youth engagement and “anything that brings the community together.”

Previous initiatives have included free acting classes and robotics lessons.

“We are also supporting the seniors in our neighbourhood, especially seniors who speak little English,” Mr Gupta told Docklands News.

“There are many seniors in this local area that are new to Australia and don’t speak English, we have come across people who are struggling with it. So, we run weekly drop-in sessions for people who speak Hindi or Punjabi to come and meet some friends and network.”

SarasCare’s free yoga sessions are held every Sunday from 9am to 10am at the Community Hub at the Dock.
