The Docklands Farmers Market marked a new chapter on Sunday, September 7, with its first instalment at Marvel Stadium, drawing locals and visitors indoors to Gate 3 for a celebration of community and fresh produce.

Organised by Community3008 Inc. and the Docklands Chamber of Commerce, the monthly market has become a much-loved fixture in Docklands, bringing together Victorian farmers, artisans, and city residents. The move to Marvel Stadium ensures the event can continue rain, hail or shine, providing a cosy and welcoming space during Melbourne’s colder months.

Market-goers browsed stalls offering everything from farm-fresh fruit and vegetables to cheeses, meats, eggs, flowers, and handmade treats. But beyond the produce, the market offered what Community3008 sees as its true purpose – connection.

“At Community3008, we believe vibrant cities are built on connected communities, and few places bring people together quite like a farmers market,” the group said. “It’s about more than shopping – it’s about stopping for a chat over coffee, meeting the growers behind your groceries, and soaking up the local vibe.”

Community3008 will also be hosting community catch-ups during each market, encouraging people to share ideas for how to make Docklands and the broader city an even better place to live.

The Docklands Farmers Market will continue at Marvel Stadium on the first Sunday of every month, with upcoming dates on October 5 and November 7.

“This is our invitation to all our neighbours – from Southbank to Carlton, Kensington to North Melbourne – to come and experience what’s happening in our Docklands community. We’d love to see you there.”
