Who knows the best dad?

Who knows the best dad? Image

Local YMCA gym manager Andrew Ward is looking for the “Father of the Year”.

Mr Ward hopes the winner of the YMCA’s state-wide award will come from a Docklands nomination.

Mr Ward said the award was a chance for children to stop and reflect on what was going on in their lives and what their dad or father-figure meant to them.

“Dads are all busy and dealing with the pressures of modern-day life but it’s important to stop and remember that our kids and our relationships with them are the most important thing,” Mr Ward said.

Mr Ward encouraged children to nominate father figures such as uncles, brothers, coaches or grandpas. “You don’t have to be a dad to have a positive impact on children’s lives,” he said.

Nomination forms are available at local YMCA centres or online at http://www.victoria.ymca.org.au.  Mr Ward can be contacted on 8615 9622.
