This school holidays there are plenty of things to see and do around Docklands, from ice skating to reading, Docklands News finds out what’s on to entertain local families.

Library at the Dock

All ages Lego Fun: The Library at the Dock will be running a number of Lego and building themed activities in addition to its regular family programs these school holidays from July 1 to July 10.

Lego movie screening - The Library at the Dock will be screening the Lego Movie for ages three and up on July 1, 10.30am - 12pm.

Bricks4Kidz: Lego activities for kids eight years and up on July 5, 10.30am - 12pm 

Baby builders: For younger kids on July 10, 10.30am – 11.15am 

Build stuff: An event for ages six and up on July 10, 4.30pm - 5.30pm 

O’Brien Icehouse

O’Brien Icehouse is hosting a winter activities program from Saturday, June 29 to Sunday, July 14.

Unlimited public skating: Featuring two Olympic sized ice rinks, the winter activities will have all day unlimited public skating from 9am, including free lessons for beginners at O’Brien Icehouse during the school holidays.

Under 8’s ice fun - Between 9am to 11am every day, the Ice Ambassadors will take children under 8 years old through a series of games setting up a snow play area for younger kids.

Experience live performances from state champions skating to iconic soundtracks from family favorite movies. The performances will happen three times a day, between 11am and 2pm followed by a meet and greet with the skaters on the ice.

Melbourne Star

Melbourne Star observation wheel will host a number of free school holiday activities starting from June 29, including free trips on the Melbourne Star for children.

Teddy bear picnic day: Hosted by the Melbourne Star’s mascot Melbie Bear, the teddy bear picnic day will host free kids’ activities and a cupcake for every child that joins in. The event will run from 10.30am – 2.30pm on July 10.

Spy in the sky: Running every day from June 29 to July 14, the Melbourne Star is offering free flights for children. The Spy in the sky challenge will equip kids with binoculars, who will need to find Melbourne’s most iconic landmarks from the floating cabins of the Melbourne Star.
