Witness the Australian Dragon Boat team in action in Docklands this month before they head off to the World Dragon Boat Championships in Canada.

The Australian team, the Auroras, includes 41 representatives from Docklands-based clubs the Yarra River Dragons, Melbourne Flames and the Dragon Masters.

And Flames coach Serghei Cusca is also head coach of the Australian team.

The team will compete in a range of categories at the world championships including under 24s, premier and senior.

Docklands-based team members are currently training six times a week, on and off the water, and will hold an open training session in Docklands this month.

Come along and watch the team on Sunday, July 26 from 9am to 10.30am at Shed 2, North Wharf Road, and then join in for refreshments afterwards.

The Auroras will battle it out against teams from over 20 countries at the world championships, which are held in different locations every two years.

The World Dragon Boat Championships will be held at the Welland International Flatwater Centre in Ontario, Canada from August 19-23.
