Outdoor cinema at Yarra’s Edge

Hollywood comes to Docklands this month when a free outdoor cinema opens at Point Park.

Following last year’s cinema series, Destination Docklands, in partnership with Mirvac and City of Melbourne, is bringing “Movies Under the Stars at Yarra’s Edge” back for another season.

Running on Thursday evenings over three weeks, starting on February 26, the movie schedule is sure to feature a film to suit every movie-lovers’ taste.

Kicking things off on February 26 will be Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, followed by Skyfall on March 5 and Frozen on March 12.

A free ferry service will run from Federation Square, departing at 6.30pm and will return at the end of each movie.

Guests can bring along a picnic or can take advantage of pre-movie specials on offer at nearby restaurants or at the mini food truck park.

Gold coin donations will be collected at each movie night and will go towards Kids Under Cover, an organisation that works to prevent youth homelessness.

The cinema site opens at 6.30pm and films will start at 8.30pm.
