Good Cycles’ hub is up and running Image

By Rhianna Busler

It was an exciting first week of September for Docklands as the semi-permanent shipping container for the new bike hub underwent construction on Harbour Esplanade.

Local not-for-profit organisation Good Cycles marketing manager Matthew McCullough said: “There will be a soft launch once construction is complete and we plan to have an official launch a month after doors open.”

The one-week construction was achieved with little disturbance to pedestrians and cyclists.

The public can expect to have access to Good Cycle’s facilities on weekdays from 8.30am until 5.30pm with weekend times to still be arranged.

Good Cycles is a social enterprise that uses bikes to engage, educate, empower and to help disadvantaged people find employment.

In a hot spot location for cyclists on their way to and from work, the new bike hub is set to be a local hit.

“It’s got high visibility, easy access for riders and a good view. What more could you want?” Mr McCullough asked.
