Fashion journey for third-year students

Fashion journey for third-year students

“The Journey” was a fashion exhibition held at Docklands’ Hub on Friday, June 15 by Box Hill Institute fashion students.

This event was a major assessment task for the subject Special Event Management and Marketing and students were asked to create a concept for an event as well as to plan and execute the event as a group project over 13 weeks.

The “journey” concept involved using live mannequins in a gallery setting.

Student Stephanie Mastromanno said the purpose of the event was to showcase students’ fashion ranges developed over the three years of their course and also to provide an opportunity for the students to network with industry professionals.

“The ultimate aim was to produce a surreal and memorable experience for the guests,” Ms Mastromanno said.

About 80 guests attended the event and Ms Mastromanno said feedback had been very positive.

“A key talking point was the use of the live mannequins in the exhibition and the venue which provided a unique setting for this special event,” she said.
