Docklands Dash!

The first ever Melbourne City Sports Docklands Dash was run and won on Wednesday, March 10.

The 4km course through the ever developing, picturesque Docklands precinct, proved popular with the participants who braved the overcast conditions. Starting at Docklands Park, the event hosted more than 500 runners, walkers and supporters.

Some very fast times were recorded by the leading participants, with the best being the overall winner David Ruschena, who completed the course in 12:19. The first female to greet the finishing chute was Super Sunset Series female division winner Sally Williams in 16:11.

The conclusion of the event at Waterfront City was followed by a free barbecue, fruit, drinks and a live concert by Taxiride lead singer Jason Singh.

The event will be returning in 2011, bigger and better.
