Docklands Art Collective wrap

The Docklands Art Collective is having its own festival on Friday, December 7 from 6pm-9pm, with live music from STEFFI and roving entertainment by Trash Puppets. Many of the exhibitions will continue throughout January.


DODGY PAPER

The Unlucky carnival will be hosted by Roj from Dodgy Paper on December 7, 7.30pm – 8pm to open Unlucky Group Show. The exhibition has over 22 participants whose work has been made on paper made from unlucky scratchies and will continue throughout December.

 

TREE PAPER COMICS

PINK GROUP EXHIBITION – December 7 – December 19

A group exhibition exploring the theme of pink. What it means to the artists, the world, and the feelings this colour incites in our collective consciousness. Artists have been asked to produce one to two artworks that display their interpretations.

 

THE AUSTRALIAN CARTOON MUSEUM – CHRISTMAS EDITION

Ned Kelly – Media Man: Two separate Ned Kelly exhibitions intertwined – one chronological and the other metaphoric, running until mid-December.

Royal Commission Into Banking cartoon exhibition – from December 12.

Special Christmas cartoon exhibition – from December 19 cartoons will be turned into Christmas decorations.

There are also storyboard classes by David Blumstein from Squishface Studios.

MAGNET GALLERY – CHRISTMAS EDITION

Reflections: 11am - 5pm Tuesday, December 9, a talk and photo walk around Docklands to capture reflective photos with David Wayman. The exhibition will be on throughout December.

Carla Van Laar – Unsung Spaces opening December 7 and running until December 31

Showcases works created by painter Carla van Laar during her 2018 Artist Fellowship at RMIT’s creative research lab, Creative Agency, in Melbourne. The paintings explore urban spaces around RMIT that are well travelled strangely familiar and evocative, yet uncelebrated due to their transient, neglected or un-designed nature.
