Chinese New Year celebrations

Docklands was the place to be during last month’s Chinese New Year celebrations, with a tasty lunar market attracting some 85,000 people to the waterfront over 14 days.

With plenty of Asian cuisine on offer to satisfy the masses, visitors and locals also enjoyed the trail of illuminated lanterns, moon and stars, pandas, opera masks and a phoenix found around the suburb.

The launch of the Docklands Chinese New Year festival on February 8 saw the suburb come alive with traditional performances including Chinese dancers and stilt walkers and roving lion and dragon dancers.
