Model Corgi

As we bump into Sparky and his owner Benjamin on Waterview Walk, the first thing he does is jump up to check out the camera.

“He is really photogenic and loves having his photo taken,” Benjamin explained. The 8-month-old Corgi lives in Docklands with Benjamin and his partner.

“It was my partner who decided that we needed to have a dog. The choice stood between a Corgi or a purebred Maltese, both perfect for apartment living,” Benjamin said. The choice fell on a Corgi, and that is how Sparky bounced into their lives.

While we’re talking to Benjamin, Sparky is eager to get his share of the attention.

“He is a very sociable dog and he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve that he likes to show off,” Benjamin continued.

On a daily basis Benjamin studies for his masters at Swinburne and he says Docklands is the perfect place for a dog like Sparky.

“Being a Corgi, he is comfortable in our flat during the day and there is so much space to walk him once we get home. The amount of parks here is just fantastic,” he said.

However, there is one thing that will always get Sparky going.

“He works for food and it will always make him happy,” Benjamin laughed as Sparky cocked his head and prepared for his close-up.
