Lots of love from Gonzo

Gonzo the parrot loves exploring Docklands.

When he’s not flying around the NewQuay apartment he shares with owner Ania Pietrusewicz you might find him taking a stroll along the promenade or enjoying a visit to a local cafe.

Indeed, Gonzo was enjoying a trip outdoors when Docklands News met the six-year-old eclectus parrot last month.

“He doesn’t mind living in an apartment because I play with him all the time and bring him outside quite often,” Ania said.

“I take him to cafes with me. Renzo (from Renzo’s Bar) loves him.”

Given his bright plumage, Gonzo definitely attracts a lot of attention and Ania said he enjoyed meeting new people.

“He’s very friendly and loves attention.”

Gonzo also loves to have a chat, according to Ania. She said his favourite phrase at the moment was: “Hello, I love you, you’re my favourite parrot in the world.”

While he’s not phased by much, Ania said the one thing Gonzo didn’t like was the robot vacuum cleaner she used to clean the mess he left.
