Docklands girls certainly found sailing on Victoria Harbour this winter great fun.

“We may have had to rug-up a little during the last few months, but the general sailing conditions on Victoria Harbour have been superb,” reports Docklands Yacht Club instructor Coral Allen.

“Our club is pleased with our growing number of new lady skippers. We find that the girls possess a natural ability, to very quickly learn to control our small sailing dinghys. They pick up the skill a lot quicker than the lads.”

Club development officer Terence O’Donnell agrees with Coral.

“Lady sailors certainly do have a special gift when it comes to learning how to read the wind,” he said.

“So, with our new Learn To Sail opportunities starting late September, we wish to welcome lots more ladies of all ages and abilities to the Docklands Yacht Club, which is now an official Yachting Australia Training Centre.

“Hey chaps ...you’re welcome too,” Terry said.
