Winter fun in Docklands

Docklands is the place to be this winter with a range of activities scheduled for children during the school holidays.

Here is a list of some of what’s available:

Winter Fest

“Winter Fest” has a range of activities planned for children to enjoy, including free face painting, games and plenty of giveaways and prizes. Kids can get creative in the craft zone as well as skating all day across the two Olympic-size rinks.

July 1- July 16. Open 9am-10pm, 9am-11pm (Friday/Saturday)

O’Brien Group Arena

Prices vary from $14-$27.

 

LEGO City Play Zone

Children can play and learn in the life-sized LEGO play zone, where fun challenges await. Building skills will be tested and imagination will run wild at the Free Build Zone. Children can also team up and work against the clock to build a structure as high as possible at the Height Challenge. There are also LEGO statues, iPad games and photo opportunities.

July 3 – July 16, 12-4pm

Winter Wonderland

It's all about snow, play and fun at the Winter Wonderland! Children can build a snowman, throw a snowball and have a blast on the amusement rides with snow falling from the sky.

11am-5pm, July 1-16

Harbour Town, under the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel

$39.5 per child.

 

 

Glow Golf

UV Lighting has transformed a traditional 18-hole mini golf course into a glow in the dark experience for the whole family to enjoy. Children can enjoy a free game after a Melbourne Star ride.

Everyday. 12pm-10pm Mon-Thurs, 10am-11pm (Fri-Sat), 10am-6pm (Sun)

Harbour Town

$9-$14. Family packages available.

 

ArtVo

Unlike most art galleries in Australia, ArtVo invites its customers to touch and interact with the artworks, becoming part of the art. With over 11 themed zones, children and families can explore amazing interactive large-scale paintings.

Everyday. 10am-6pm

Science storytime

Docklands library is running a special program for children these school holidays to learn all about science. Children are advised to wear old clothes, as it is sure to be a messy morning with the creation of their own baking powder and vinegar volcano.

July 7. 10.30am-11.15am

Fizzics education

Children can launch a rocket, look through a telescope and learn about tides and gravity these school holidays. Fizzics education is running a hands-on science workshop for children five years and older to learn all about stars, planets and rockets.

July 12. 2.30-3.30pm

Free. Bookings required.

 

Drop-in crafternoon

Spend a creative afternoon crafting and letting your imagination run wild. A range of materials will be provided.

July 5. 2-4pm
