New chair for Destination Docklands

Destination Docklands has announced Dr David Cochrane as its new chairperson, following Clive Dwyer’s resignation.

Mr Dwyer stepped down from the role after accepting a position in the Middle East managing  the destination program for Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Cochrane comes to the role with 30 years experience as an economist and accountant. He is currently the Melbourne leader for the economics, regulation and policy practice for Ernst and Young.

He is also a member of the Commonwealth Government’s Investment and Regulatory Reform Working Group, which as been established to identity actions to support the development of regional tourism assets.

Until recently he was also a member of the Dandenong Gardens Advisory Committee.

“I am excited to be elected as chair and plan to build on the previous strategies; bringing new initiatives to activate the waterfront and developing new partnership opportunities for Docklands,” Dr Cochrane said.
