New award for Gauge

Lend Lease’s Victorian head office, The Gauge, in Victoria Harbour, has been recognised for excellence in interior design.

The building received the award for Excellence in Interior Design of a Major Commercial Building at the (inside) IDEA Awards held in Sydney last month.

The IDEA Awards judges said the Gauge represented an exemplary balance between innovation and respect for convention.

The interior design nurtures a sense of ownership and pride in a workplace with generous desk areas, personalised lighting and storage, chill out zones, a fireplace, an outdoor deck with barbecue areas overlooking the adjacent park and a living green wall that greets visitors upon entry.

The Gauge has received a number of awards since it was completed in April 2008, including the Sustainable Architecture Award at the 2009 Australian Institute of Architects Victorian Chapter Awards, the Built Environment Award at the 2009 Premier’s Sustainability Awards and the Boral

National Environment and Energy Efficiency Award at the MBA 2009 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards.
