Myer receives a warm welcome

03 Aug 2010

Central Pier was a sea of black and white and colour balloons on Friday, July 30 as Atlantic Group [v] welcomed Myer to Docklands.

The exclusive event for Myer staff only, was fondly named the “Myer Welcome to the Hood Party” and was the perfect way to welcome our newest neighbours to Central Pier.

Managing Director of Atlantic Group [v] Hatem Saleh explained the idea: “We have such a strong community in Docklands and it is important to have close bonds with our neighbours. We believe that Central Pier and Myer have a lot in common. Both of us are leaders in our field and it was fantastic to see Atlantic Group [v] staff and Myer staff enjoying the celebration together!”

The event began at 5.30 pm and Myer workers were greeted outside their new office by Atlantic Group [v] staff holding giant helium balloons. They then followed the trail of balloons to Central Pier where the party was getting started.

On arrival, Myer staff were treated to an exclusive tour of the Woolshed Pub plus event spaces Peninsula, Atlantic, Sumac in Shed 14. The final stop was Atlantic Group [v]’s most boutique and unique venue Sketch, where guests were treated to a cocktail party complete with catering by executive chef Dan Shanks, and sweet delights by renowned pastry chef Lisa Van Zanten.

The night was a roaring success, with over 150 guests enjoying the tastes of Central Pier and making friends with their new Docklands neighbours. The night concluded with a spectacular fireworks display across Victoria Harbour and an after-party at Alumbra, Central Pier’s cocktail bar and night club.
