Meet your state election candidates

Docklands residents are invited to attend a “Meet the Candidates” night this month, ahead of the upcoming state election.

Docklands News has organised the event in order for locals to hear from state election candidates about how their policies affect Docklands.

The Meet the Candidates will be held on November 5 giving residents plenty of time to consider each candidate’s policies before placing their vote on November 24.

Greens candidate Ellen Sandell and Labor candidate Jennifer Kanis have both confirmed their attendance at the Meet the Candidates night. Liberal candidate Ed Huntingford did not respond to an invitation.

Docklands News publisher Shane Scanlan will chair the event and the format will see each candidate given 10 minutes to speak about how their policies affect Docklands.

This will be followed with questions from the floor, with local attendees given the opportunity to direct Docklands-related questions to each of the candidates.

The event will be held from 7.00pm – 8.30 pm at Watermark, which is located on the Victoria Harbour Promenade under the Ericsson building.

Watermark will be open for business on the night and Docklanders are invited to head down for a meal or drink before the formalities begin.

The Library at the Dock will serve as Docklands’ election-day voting centre on November 24 and will be open from 8am to 6pm.
